🌌 The 64th Session of the Legal Subcommittee of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (#COPUOS2025) just wrapped up! Highlights below 👇 1️⃣ New ad-hoc Observers: 🇱🇮 Liechtenstein, 🇲🇹 Malta, 🇺🇬 Uganda, the League of Arab States, ACES Worldwide & Lunar Policy Platform joined the 104 Member States & 56 Observers of the Committee. 2️⃣ States reaffirmed the priority of holding UNISPACE IV in 2027. Incoming Chairs 🇲🇦 Morocco and 🇮🇹 Italy will act as co-facilitators of a process to negotiate the objectives, organisation, and scope of the landmark event. 3️⃣ UNOOSA hosted 3 side events with industry leaders like Amazon Kuiper, ARABSAT, Astroscale, ClearSpace, Digantara, D-Orbit, NorthStar & Viasat, showcasing solutions for Space Situational Awareness, Traffic Management & Debris Removal. 4️⃣ Member States proposed a Study Group on Legal & Policy Aspects of Space Traffic to address orbital safety.
