My favorite leaf, the Ginkgo: Ginkgo biloba is frequently referred to as a “living fossil,”. This species traces its origins back more than 290 million years to the Permian period, existing long before dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Recognizable by their unique fan-shaped leaves and resilient form, ginkgo trees have undergone little evolutionary change over millions of years.
