📣 Tomorrow is International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction! Disasters are a growing threat to economic prosperity and sustainable development, with costs underestimated and unsustainable. That is why the theme for #DRRday this year is "Fund Resilience, Not Disasters" because when you fund for resilience now, you avoid paying for disasters later. #EarlyWarningsForAll is a key part of building this resilience against disasters, and WMO is proud to be a leader in this initiative by facilitating the sharing of data collected from the Earth's surface and space, upon which Early Warning Systems rely on. Without this coordination facilitated by WMO, modern day weather and hydrology forecasts would not be possible.
