16 September marks
#WorldOzoneDay
For decades, the WMO community has helped mobilize international cooperation in ozone research, systematic observations and scientific assessments.
This is underpinned by trust and commitment to free data exchange β all cornerstones of the worldβs most successful environmental agreement, the
#MontrealProtocol
Some of the benefits of these efforts include:
β
reducing risk of skin cancer
β
reducing risk of cataracts
β
reducing risk of ecosystem damage
WMO will continue enabling the production of high-quality data and fostering knowledge exchange between countries to ensure the Ozone Layer fully recovers.
