Lunar camera tested for Artemis missions 🌋
During our latest PANGAEA geology training in Lanzarote, Spain, astronauts put the Handheld Universal Lunar Camera (HULC) through its paces. This next-generation camera, designed for @nasaartemis missions, will capture the Moon in unprecedented detail.
@arnaud_astro, @astro.rosemary, and @jaxajp astronaut Norishige Kanai tested features like telephoto lenses, flash settings, and even an eyepiece, ensuring optimal performance for astronauts wearing gloves in extreme lunar conditions.
As we are gearing up to go back to the Moon with @NASA, HULC’s field tests promise sharper images in both bright and shadowed areas, vital for documenting scientific discoveries during future moonwalks.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue refining the tools that will help unlock the Moon’s mysteries for future explorers!
