I have ten months to prepare. To be clear, this is the closest thing to impossible I could ever attempt. The chances of failure are far greater than the sliver of a chance that I succeed. I am well aware of that reality. I have not made this decision lightly. I’ve spoken with my family and the people closest to me. They know what this means, and what it will require. There will be questions, especially about my sweet angel Phoenix. Time will reveal those answers, including some I don’t yet have. What I can say is this: even in the likely event that I fail, I will not disappoint myself. Because I will put my soul into this. I will leave everything on the table. Whatever the cost.
