George Clooney traded Hollywood life for a quieter existence in rural France. After welcoming twins with his wife Amal in 2017, he decided Los Angeles wasn’t the place he wanted them to grow up. He told Esquire that life on a French farm gives his kids “a fair shake at life.” In France, he said, fame doesn’t matter, and people don’t care who you are. That freedom lets his children live without the pressure of celebrity culture. Clooney said he wants his twins to grow up with chores and discipline, not iPads or paparazzi. Recently, he described how the family spent a day painting a fence together, laughing as the kids got covered in paint. He still enjoys working with his hands.
