Manager of Public and Government Affairs for AAA-Mid Atlantic, Jana Tidwell, shared some safety tips for drivers Sunday morning during what could be considered the calm before the storm. Tidwell said that since the ground is so dry, if the rainfall comes super quickly, it won't be absorbed as fast as it needs to be to avoid potential flooding on the roads. She urged anyone who needs to leave the house on Sunday to get their errands done early and ahead of time, so you don't have to be on the roads during the height of the nor'easter on Sunday and Monday. However, if you do find yourself on the road, pay attention to the skies once the rain starts and slow down to maintain consistent control of your vehicle.
