Happy Thanksgiving! This is a reminder that the Archives will be closed on Monday, October 13, for the holiday. Did you know that Canadian Thanksgiving used to be held on the first Monday of November? The date sometimes fell in the same week as Armistice Day on November 11, mixing harvest revelry with solemn remembrance of the First World War. In 1931, after a campaign by the Canadian Legion, the federal government changed the date of Thanksgiving to the second Monday in October.
