It hit me recently how easy it is to take for granted the person who’s always there. The person that has been holding it down, giving so much of themselves, but somewhere along the way, efforts have gone unnoticed. Under no circumstance will my wife feel alone with me right beside her. That’s not the kind of husband I signed up to be. Being present, listening, and making sure she never feels like she’s doing life by herself costs nothing but means everything. My wife deserves a partner, not just in name, but in heart and action.
