I ask myself often, does my family feel safe with me at all levels? Some levels are easy to overlook but too important to miss. For me, the answer has to be a hell yes, or it’s a hell no. And the latter is just unacceptable. Check with your spouse often and make sure they’re secure on every level. If they are not - why not?
