We sat together, shoulder to shoulder, hearts heavy but open. Our panel wasn’t just a discussion it was a shared moment of truth.
We laughed.
We cried.
We held each other up.
Each of us carried a story. Some fresh, some years old. But the ache of losing a mother or someone who felt like a mother doesn’t fade. It just changes. And in that room, we gave ourselves permission to say, “I still miss her. I still need her. I’m still healing.”
We talked about the days we feel strong and the nights we fall apart. We spoke the names of women who made us who we are. We reminded each other that grieving doesn’t make us weak, it means we loved HARD.
There’s something sacred about being in a space where no one asks you to be okay. A space where every tear is welcome, every story is honored, and every woman is seen. That’s what A Seat At Her Table gave us.
This was more than an event. This was a beginning.
