Some mornings start early, and today is one of them! Kicking off the first day of Black History Month by showing up, being present, and leading by example. Opened the rec center bright and early for my basketball program, handling emails for my upcoming event, and took a moment to fuel up with a warm bagel and honey pecan cream cheese…all before the real work of the day begins. People often only see what’s posted on social media, but the real grind happens behind the scenes. It takes courage to step up, stay consistent, and push forward when no one is watching. Being brave means doing the work, even when it’s not easy.
