🏈West Virginia based HBCU , Bluefield State University, won their first CIAA football game in 71 years, during homecoming last week. They ended a 71-year drought last Saturday, earning its first CIAA football win since 1954 with a 35–33 homecoming victory over Shaw University. Bluefield dropped their football program for four decades and only recently returned to the CIAA conference on July 1, 2023.
