Yesterday during a press conference, Alabama State University announced a historic new partnership with the YMCA of Greater Montgomery, to have a YMCA located on their campus. This is set to be located in a renovated 5,000 square-foot building located near their communication building.

“Today’s announcement is a shining example of what we mean when we say ‘CommUniversity’ in both spirit and in action,” said ASU President Dr. Quinton T. Ross, Jr. “It’s a demonstration of how we as an institution are committed not only to educating students, but also to uplifting and empowering the community we serve.
The YMCA will be housed in a renovated 5,000-square-foot facility near ASU’s Department of Communications building. The space will be dedicated to promoting health, wellness and community engagement.
