Basquiat 👑 This is the latest drawing in my Iconic Artist series. I actually have drawn Basquiat 2 full times before this final iteration. I had just drawn him black and white, like one of my standard portraits, but something felt off. It didn’t feel expressive or alive yet. So I decided to take a chance and to do something a little more chaotic. It is so nerve wracking drawing and scribbling on top of something you have put so much work into! One of his quotes that stuck out while I was doing my research on him is about how he wanted his work to look and feel as if it was made by a child. That really encouraged me to just let go and have fun with this piece and I could not be happier with the results!
