All 20 of the surviving hostages in Gaza have now been released.
The Israeli hostages, held in Gaza for more than two years, have now begun to reunite with their families, following a U.S. brokered peace deal for their safe return.
While the remains of other hostages were also expected to be transferred, the group representing families of abductees announced that "only four bodies" out of 28 held by Hamas would be heading back today.
Hamas' military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, identified the hostages as Guy Iluz, Yossi Sharabi, Bevin Joshi and Daniel Peres.
Hundreds of prisoners and detained Palestinians are expected to be released as part of the first phase of the historic peace plan aimed at ending the war.
