Hats off to Jonnu Smith for being our Week 7 #CommunityMVP. 🎉 Jonnu and several of his Steelers teammates visited 100 inmates at State Correctional Institute in Fayette. The group included his older brother, Wayne, who has been in prison since 2010. The Steelers players offered words of encouragement and stories of motivation while representatives from culinary-based nonprofit, Community Kitchen Pittsburgh, gave a presentation on its training programs and transitional employment opportunities. In addition to the NFLPA's $10,000 grant to Jonnu's Nu Family Foundation, Pittsburgh's own Richard King Mellon Foundation is matching that grant, for a total of $20,000 going towards the mission of empowering at-risk youth & families in need through resource-driven programming and faith-based mentorship. 🙌 Learn more on Jonnu’s efforts and how you can support with the link in our bio. 🎨: heartlentgroup
