Career update: I have decided to step away from my current position as a photographer for the University of Virginia to pursue freelance photography full-time. My last day with UVA will be December 20th. I am deeply grateful for the 2.5 years I have spent at Virginia – the people I have met, opportunities I’ve been given, and how much I have learned along the way. It has become incredibly clear over the past several months that my heart and my calling lie in sports photography. When I realized this, I knew that the only way forward was to dive in headfirst and take the advice that many of you have given me: “just go do it.” I grew up a Virginia fan, spending very cold evenings at Klöckner Stadium watching my sister play. I went to marching band camp in University Hall at 14, where I learned to play the Good Old Song on my trumpet.
