🚨 IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES IN CRISIS MODE AS FEDERAL TASK FORCE SWEEPS MEMPHIS Since the launch of the Memphis Safe Task Force on Sept. 29, local immigrant communities have gone into what advocates are calling “crisis mode.” According to Casey Bryant, Executive Director of Advocates for Immigrant Rights, “there have probably been hundreds of people detained for immigration-related reasons” — many during traffic stops for minor issues like dim headlights or paper tags. Federal agencies, including ICE, are reportedly teaming with state troopers — sometimes pulling vehicles over for small infractions before federal agents step in.
