Thailand is poised to make a landmark move with its government planning on introducing its first Trans Wellbeing Charter by March 31, 2026 — which is also International Trans Day of Visibility
This legislation focuses on transgender rights, healthcare access, and social inclusion.
Developed in collaboration with the Thai Transgender Alliance and the National Health Commission Office, the charter aims to improve access to hormone therapy, enhance medical training, and embed inclusive practices across state institutions.
Nachale Boonyapisomparn, vice president of the Thai Transgender Alliance and head of the transgender wellbeing policy committee, said the new charter would mark a “significant milestone” in Thailand’s legislative efforts to support gender diversity.
