Carter Hart is joining the Vegas Golden Knights.
The 27-year-old goaltender becomes the first of the five players from Canada’s 2018 World Junior team to sign an NHL contract since being acquitted of sexual assault earlier this year.
Vegas announced the signing on Thursday, noting the team is aligned with the NHL and NHLPA’s reinstatement process. Hart, along with Michael McLeod, Dillon Dube, Cal Foote, and Alex Formenton, will be eligible to return to play on Dec. 1.
Hart previously spent six seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers before seeking a fresh start.
