RIP TO A REAL ONEšŸ˜” I was deeply saddened to hear my good friend Lantz Wheeler passed away. If you never heard of him or had the pleasure of meeting him, he was one of the most creative minds and innovative coaches I’ve ever personally met as far as teaching throwing mechanics go. As a young coach I learned so much from Lantz, the biggest thing being to always stay open minded, allow my players to trust what they feel, and to think outside the box with my drill designs with no fear of being judged by other coaches. When I first started coaching I knew absolutely nothing about throwing mechanics but was eager to learn, so I asked him a lot of ridiculous questions lol. No matter what, he always listened and never made me feel less than for not having as much knowledge or experience as he did. Another cool thing about Lantz is even if he didn’t agree with it, he was always willing to listen to anyone who had an interesting concept they wanted to share.
