Some players change the game with their talent. Others change it with their actions. Ali Riley did both. Ali has always been an ally to footballers worldwide, and it was made official when she joined the inaugural #FIFPRO Global Player Council in 2019. Since then, Ali has been a reliable and constant source of positivity, giving her time and energy to improving the game both on and off the pitch. Ali has featured on #FIFPRO’s channels countless times – raising awareness about social media abuse, reflecting on conditions and prize money at the FIFA World Cup, and even hosting our very first podcast, Changing Our Game. This moment in a player’s life is always bittersweet. But as we reach the swansong of Ali’s playing career, we have no doubt her next chapter will be every bit as inspiring as the last.
