I don’t really have the words to describe our experience today on 9/11 in NYC. 20 years since that day that changed the country and the world forever. I will say that today there was absolutely no one worried about race, gender, sexual orientation, political party, V status, masks etc. Everyone was united, kind, quiet, respectful and there to pay tribute. The feeling was refreshing and hopeful. ❤️
I’m so thankful for today and the opportunity to live in this incredible and resilient city. From talking to my kids about what happened in this exact spot 20 years ago, to glancing over and seeing an older fire chief in his uniform sitting on a bench with tears steaming down his face, to the NYPD playing peek-a-boo with my toddlers who were sick of sitting in their stroller, to the people handing out roses and American flags, to the many heroes there in uniform (military, NYPD, NYFD, etc) to laying in bed tonight staring at the bright light in the sky from the tower. Today was unforgettable...
