My friend Amy works at the davidzwirner gallery and got me into the press preview of the new Yayoi Kusama exhibit which is called “I spend each day embracing flowers.” So freaking cool to see all her pieces, like the flowers and the pumpkins, up close and practically by myself. I especially loved the infinity room. It’s a big white box in a big white room. Then you step inside a little door and are instantly surrounded by all these colorful polka dots. The experience of going from the stark white into all the color took my breath away. The photos don’t do it justice. Watch my story to see video. The show is free and open to the public until July 21st. You just have to stand in line and wait to get in. They recommend going early on weekdays for the shortest line.
