Happy Farmer Friday! We are so proud to continue our series about our favorite people - our partner farmers! Meet Steve Train who lives on Long Island, Maine - a small close-knit community in Casco Bay. He has been fishing his whole life, kelp farming for 4 seasons, and is a true leader in the fishing community - holding a seat on more boards, councils, and commissions than we can keep track of. But if you know Steve personally you know two things for sure - he is going to make you laugh and he’ll drop everything to lend you a helping hand. After the tragic mass shooting in Lewiston last fall, he worked with lobstermen and local restaurants to organize Lobsters for Lewiston, to help raise funds for the victim’s families and communities. When storms battered Maine’s coastline this winter, Steve was out there helping others clean up their farms, collect traps, and shore up their docks.
