Fall baking is upon us! 🙌🏻 This is my family’s forever favorite apple cake, which is great for Rosh Hashanah or simply ‘cause you love apples. It’s got a crisp exterior (the secret is to finely grind up walnuts instead of chopping them), warmth from cinnamon in every bite, and if you’re feeling like it, a swirl of salted caramel sauce. 💁🏻‍♀️ I didn’t add any caramel this year because, quite frankly, the idea of dirtying one more pan today was NOT a happy one. My favorite part about this cake is the fact that the apples are grated, so they kind of melt into the batter. There’s no big chunks and it’s just perfect.
