the one thing no one tells you about growing up and moving away is how much you’re going to miss your parents :(( last night I got to spend the evening with close friends in my new life (I moved away from home for the first time to Los Angels last year), it was genuinely perfect and I felt so loved being surrounded by my friends. this morning I woke up early to board my flight to SF (first time visiting) and texted my Mom if she wanted to call before my flight. immediately it hit me that I was spending my birthday without her. I bawled my eyes out on the short plane ride as I reflected a bit on the past year, and what I want to do better this next year going forward.
