Our first House Games of the year saw quite the competitions in pickleball, spelling bee, four square, pumpkin decorating, touch football and the quiz game “The 1% Club.”
Jogues took first place overall for Tuesday’s Games, thanks to first-place finishes in the spelling bee and a tie for first in “The 1% Club” with Gonzaga and football champion Campion. Arrupe was second overall with a win in pumpkin decorating, Loyola was third with wins in pickleball and four square; Xavier took second in four square.
In the pioneering CHS House System, all students are members of one of six houses – each named after prominent Jesuit: St. Ignatius Loyola, St. Isaac Jogues, St. Aloysius Gonzaga, Pedro Arrupe, St. Edmund Campion and St. Francis Xavier – with competition, brotherhood and camaraderie of each house carrying through students’ four years.
