Members of the Class of 2027 gathered for Canisius High School’s hallmark Kairos Retreat recently at the beautiful campus of the Notre Dame Retreat House in Canandaigua. Named for the Greek term meaning “God’s time,” the Kairos retreat offers students set-apart time to reflect more deeply on their experiences so far at Canisius and their relationship with self, God and others. Students leave their phones behind for the three-day, two-night retreat. This is Canisius’ 27th school year of Kairos retreats. Kairos is led by a team of students and faculty members who share reflections, lead meditations and guide small-group discussions about identity, spirituality and personal growth. At the close of this 128th CHS edition of Kairos, students left the Finger Lakes with a greater sense of their sense of self, community and familial belonging, as well as with a call to faith, discipleship and service.
