Reformare Lab : Kimono Reconstruction Each roll of silk can only produce between five to ten items. In the past, we operated as Reformare Lab, experimenting with various vintage styles to create trendy pieces. Two years ago, our team hit the streets of Kyoto to gather a range of kimono fabrics, including royal mud-dyed textiles, shichido-dyed fabrics, and natural dyes—treasures of intangible cultural heritage. These fabrics were originally crafted for kimonos, but with Japan‘s long economic slump, fewer customers are ordering custom kimonos, leaving these precious materials to sit quietly in storage. We’ve handpicked a variety of fabrics and transformed them into stylish shirts and hats. Since each roll can only produce two shirts or five to ten hats, this collection will be released in super limited quantities.
