This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It stars Miles Teller and JK Simmons and it’s possibly each of their career best performances. (JK Simmons won an Oscar for his role here.) But there’s something about Mile’s performance that is SO COMPELLING here. His dedication towards reaching his goal is so strong it’s VERY UNHEALTHY. For most of the movie I couldn’t tell if I was watching a tragedy or not. If you want an amazing movie, Whiplash is sitting at a 94% rotten tomatoes, won 49 awards, was nominated for another 114 awards, and is in my personal top 10 of all time.
