Limerick legend Declan Hannon has announced his retirement from intercounty hurling. The Adare man started his career as a forward for the Limerick minors in 2010, playing for the senior team in the same year in the NHL and followed that up by starring for the under 21s. He was on the Limerick team that won the 2013 Munster Senior Hurling Championship, a first in 17 years, then followed that up by becoming the first Limerick man to lift the Liam McCarthy in 2018 when the Treatymen defeated Galway in the final after reverting to centre back under John Kiely. Hannon would go on to win five All Ireland titles as captain and was part of the historic six in a row winning team in Munster. #hurling #limerick
