Thanks to the incredible work and dedication of countries, partners, and communities, the number of children paralyzed by polio each year has fallen by more than 99% since 1988. But in some of the world’s most complex settings, the disease is still paralyzing children, and the risk of international spread remains high. That’s why the global polio program urgently needs continued financial and political support. We have already stopped polio in most of the world, but with continued commitment, we can #EndPolio for good. Learn more from our President of Global Development, Chris Elias.
