I’ve been testing out the new sonyalpha 50-150mm f2 GM lens. It has been amazing since my first shot! This lens is larger than the 70-200mm 2.8 GM II in width, but doesn’t feel much heavier in hand. Super smooth zoom ring and the f2 definitely makes a difference. It’s also just so sharp, feels like a prime lens all the way through the focal lengths. The background separation you can get on this lens is beautiful and having the 50mm opposed to 70mm on the wide end, helps so much for shooting basketball on the baseline. Pairing it with a camera with high megapixels like the Sony Alpha 1 II allows you to use the crop mode to make up for the distance loss at 150mm vs. 200mm. Expensive price tag, but I would definitely recommend this lens for many sports photographers for sure.
