Talk to your kids about acceptance- start these conversations young so that accepting people who are different from them becomes second nature. My educator lens taught me a lot about the spectrum of abilities - it also showed me there is still misunderstanding and intolerance of differences. Being a teacher showed me when we lump individuals together with labels without understanding their actual meaning, we don’t even try to see them for them. So be a person who tries.
