We prepare girls, but it’s important to inform boys, too. A question I get often. For us, around 3 is when they took notice. Why is mom laying down? What’s that? (Pointing to a tampon) Why don’t you feel good? Are you sick? A simplified answer: Some bodies have a uterus - this is where a baby grows. Every month the body makes some tissue, while it prepares to grow a baby. If there’s no baby, the body gets rid of extra stuff - that’s what we call a period. Sometimes there is pain abd discomfort, sometimes there isn’t. What would you add?
