If you get stuck with all the tasks - from cleaning, to prepping food, to set up every time you have guests over, this is for you. This cannot be one person’s job! It’s too much- and it’s not equitable when both have agreed to entertain the company coming over. I often hear that (generally speaking) women want the house to look tidy/decorated/organized before people arrive. And sometimes men don’t see value in this or prioritize it the same way. I am all about a cute tablescape & decor, but my husband may not put much emphasis on this. But valuing each other’s priorities is so important in a partnership - this means meeting each other halfway, planning for occasions together, and then sharing in equal responsibility for the tasks that need to be completed.
