#BLPhistory Rosa Parks passed on October 24, 2005 at age 92. Known as the “mother of the Civil Rights Movement,” she refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery bus on December 1, 1955, which helped spark the Montgomery Bus Boycott and a nationwide push for equality. Born February 4, 1913 in Alabama, she was later awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal. Her legacy continues to be taught in classrooms and honored across the country. RIP 🕊️ #RosaParks
