I almost quit design. In 2020 I designed a sports graphic everyday for a year. went from totally incompetent at design to someone people were reaching out to for tips. Even landed a few clients here and there. It was cool, but you can’t live off of 3 $40 clients. So I searched for full time design jobs. I applied to 100s of jobs and never got anywhere. I couldn’t even afford to pay for a McDouble with any regularity. I was angry all the time and didn’t know what else to do. My deadline was coming up. “I guess I’m going to work at fucking Burger King or whoever offers me something first” I gave myself until June 2021 or I was going to go do something I didn’t enjoy. One day, it all changed. One fateful March day, I got a lucky DM offering a potential long term contract. It turned out to be legit, and I’ve been there ever since.
