With so many new people joining our little corner of the internet, we thought we’d take things down to the studs and introduce everyone to the foundational element that makes Porter Teleo what it is: Our Paper
Sourced from the mountainous Kochi prefecture of Japan, our paper is a unique type of washi, specially formulated to serve as a flawless foundation for our artwork.
Each batch of paper is hand-mixed using river water that runs straight from the surrounding mountains into the family-owned paper mills that have been creating washi for generations. Our founders, Kelly and Bridgett, visited Japan last spring to meet with the artisans, to better understand their processes and the delicate ecosystem upon which their traditions rely.
