2x MVP-status achieved ⭐️⭐️ Fifth-year midfielder Abby Warriner has been named the OUA's 'Most Valuable Player' for the 2025 season, becoming the first player since 2011 to win back-to-back MVP awards. Warriner, the biomedical engineering major, continues to add on to her already impressive Gryphon career. The reigning U SPORTS Player of the Year added a goal scoring element to her game this season, scoring 7 times in 8 games played, leading the team in goals scored and was tied for 2nd in the OUA. The Newmarket, ON native also plays a crucial role on defence for her team in her sweeper role in the Guelph midfield. Warriner is also a team captain on the team, helping lead her side to a 7-1-2 (win-loss-draw) record a place in the OUA Field Hockey Championship tournament.
