One thing that’s often discouraged me from studying my Word like I ought to is the fact that it can take me HOURS just to dissect a couple of verses. Somehow I’ve been deceived into thinking that reading a bunch of scripture at once is more important than actually understanding what I’m reading & then allowing the Holy Spirit to enlighten what’s been read. I also learned that I have an odd love for etymology, and as a result, here we are. • I’ve come to accept the fact that it might take me 2 days to break down & digest scripture in a way that truly satisfies me, but have learned that it’s much more important to THOROUGHLY understand & digest the Word than it is to simply just consume it. We’re surely living in a time where scripture is being used out of context, is misinterpreted, and consequently, leading souls astray.
