The meltdown isn’t who they are. It’s how they’re feeling in that moment. I don’t usually share videos like this. Someone once told me they appreciated that I show more of the positive side of Autism because so often, people only show what they consider “the bad side.” And honestly, some moments are personal and deserve to stay private. But I’m sharing this now because it’s Autism Acceptance Month, and this is a part of Autism too. It’s important to spread awareness not just of the joyful moments, but the hard ones too. Still I want to be clear, this is just one part of Autism. It’s not the whole story. My son isn’t just Autistic he’s also just a kid.
