👏Huge congrats to rachelrileyrr for being presented with ‘Joy’ - the traditional declaration upon being awarded the Freedom of the City of London for my her combatting antisemitism and Holocaust education. The honour likely goes back to around 890 and has always honoured men and women who’ve done something worthy, no matter their class background. So now I’m amongst greats like Florence Nightingale, Churchill, Sir Nicholas Winton and some fabulous Jewish women - Emilia Lanier and Florence Oppenheimer (look them up!).
