LIONS KNOCKOUT LANCERS: The jserra.girlsvb team made the long journey to Thousand Oaks a victorious one on Thursday, as the Lions took down the Thousand Oaks Lancers 25-21, 25-27, 25-23, 25-19 in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs at Thousand Oaks High School. The Lions are now 19-14 overall and will host Bishop Montgomery in the quarterfinals round next Wednesday at JSerra Catholic High School. JSerra began the opening set by winning 10 of the first 14 points, and though the Lancers narrowed the deficit to 21-18, senior Charlotte Nowak sealed a four-point set triumph with a thunderous kill. It was a similar start to the second set, as the Lions claimed 10 of the first 15 points. Thousand Oaks responded with strong play in the middle of the set, taking its' first lead at 21-20.
