I never thought I’d ever take a pregnancy test and see it turn positive without a lot of doctors and a lot of meds… but earlier this year I was shocked to see the word positive show up.. I remember feeling shocked and hopeful but also extremely nervous because I knew my chances of having an ectopic pregnancy (where the embryo grows outside of the uterus) were high because of my endometriosis. After a few days I started having symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy and I had a feeling I was about to go through a season where it gets worse before it gets better. I wrote this song in the midst of the pain and heart break as a promise to myself that I would not let the pain of this loss go to waste, that I would let it transform me, that I would become strong enough to carry it with me and allow it to anchor me in the gratitude for all the beautiful things I have in life, only because of my commitment to working though pain.
