First-Time Dad: NICU Day 6. Today is all about cautious optimism and the emotional rollercoaster of NICU life. Our little guy took a huge step yesterday and came completely off oxygen support! While he had a few small breathing episodes overnight (which is common), he’s doing incredibly well, and the doctors are talking about a potential discharge tomorrow if he continues to thrive today. Trying not to get our hopes up too high, but feeling so hopeful. In between visits, I’m sharing an honest update on how we’re doing: the anxiety, the exhaustion, and the weird reality of killing time between precious hospital visits. Plus, a major dad milestone unlocked: I changed my first diaper!
