For those looking for my tree trimming "recipe," here it is... 1. I start with the top and add two to three different types of stems, sprigs or holiday picks. 2. Then I alternate two different strands of ribbon, vertically, down the tree, tucking into branches for a billowy effect. 3. Next, I drape beads horizontally around the tree. 4. I then insert large flowers all around the tree to fill in holes. Usually I use two colors. 5. Then I'll use craft wire to hang statement ornaments (accents not made for trees like Nutcrackers) or shove and stuff other decorative finds like wooden sailboats. 6. Finally, I'll add the small ornaments!! That's how you make a "statement" tree. Go with a theme and pile it all on! Over stuffed is better than a baked tree for this effect!
